Hand Built Clay
Clay is a flexible, forgiving medium for shaping and creating, from bowls, plates, and mugs to figurines and decor. Allow you imagination to lead. Our artists and instructors will work with you to familiarize you with the tools of the trade, the tricks of the art, and the time to learn how to make the most out of this time honored material - from start to finish.
Wheel Throwing
Our wheel throwing classes are great for beginners, even if you’ve never worked with clay. We will provide all instruction and materials, you provide the ambition and inspiration. You will learn how to throw clay on the pottery wheel, from wedging and centering, to raising and trimming, finishing up with wiring and drying. Ages 15 & up.
Wheel Deal Experience
2 hour Class
All classes include all materials, bisque firing, glazing, glaze firing, and instruction. We ask that you provide a towel to protect your clothing
Generally speaking, clay projects must be bisque fired prior to being glazed. The clay piece needs sufficient time to dry after shaping before it can be bisque fired. Please expect a 2-3 week delay between your class and the call to glaze your piece.
While no materials being used will stain, we recommend wearing something you don’t mind getting dirty. Simply put, clay artistry involves dirt and water, so expect get to a little messy. Hey, it’s okay to play in the dirt!
