January Events at The Paint Pot

Get your hands dirty and experience the fun of the pottery wheel! This beginner-friendly session introduces you to the basics of wheel throwing as you learn to center clay and shape your own mug and attach handle. No experience needed — just come ready to play with clay and try something new! Our instructors will guide you step-by-step in a relaxed, creative atmosphere.
Includes all materials and firing for one finished piece. We will Text you when your pieces are ready for you to come in and glaze. Recommended for ages 14 and above.

Join us for a delightful Kids Storytime & Art Class, where imagination comes to life through stories and hands-on creativity! We’ll begin with a fun, age-appropriate story, then transition into an art project inspired by the book.
Children will explore colors, shapes, and textures while creating their own unique artwork to take home or leave to dry at studio.. This class encourages listening skills, creativity, and self-expression in a relaxed and supportive environment.
No art experience needed—just bring your imagination! All materials are included.
Perfect for young artists who love stories, making art, and having fun.
Story is My, Oh My- A Butterfly by Dr. Suess.  Then  the kids will create a butterfly out of clay.  Children ages 3-6 years old must be accompanied by adult,  Ages 6+ can be dropped off and picked up 90 minutes after start of class.  

In this hands-on clay class, participants will create three heart-shaped trinket dishes using hand-building techniques. Step-by-step instruction will guide you through shaping, smoothing, and adding texture or simple details to make each dish unique.

This class is perfect for beginners and experienced makers alike. Each dish can be personalized with patterns, initials, or designs, making them perfect for gifts, keepsakes, or everyday use.

Finished pieces will be dried and kiln-fired, then glazed and fired again. Completed trinket dishes will be ready for pickup at a later date.

Sip from something you made yourself! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll design and build a custom clay mug using traditional hand-building techniques. Add texture, handles, and decorative details before selecting your glaze. No experience necessary—just bring your creativity. Mugs will be fired and food-safe once completed.   Total cost of class is $38.  A $10 deposit saves your seat and the remainder is due at class minus the deposit.

three beautiful clay roses complete with stems.
Step-by-step instruction will guide you through shaping petals, building realistic layers, and assembling stems for a finished floral piece that lasts forever.No prior clay experience is needed. This class is perfect for beginners as well as those looking to refine their sculpting skills. Each rose can be styled uniquely, allowing for personal creativity and expression. Finished pieces will be dried, fired, and ready for pickup at a later date. Roses may be left natural or painted/glazed depending on studio options.All materials included.

Create a one-of-a-kind LED light-sensitive night light, decorated your way with beads, glass and mosaic pieces and encased in UV resin.

You’ll learn basic resin safety, design techniques, and how light interacts with color and transparency to create a glowing effect. The finished piece automatically lights up in low-light conditions, making it both functional and artistic.
No prior experience is necessary. All materials are provided, and your completed night light will be ready to take home at the end of class.
